Networks and Associations

Ina Maria Schmid has spent her life giving generously to the nail industry. The idea was very simple: she wanted to help women who were more or less „standing out on the street“ after 20 or more years of marriage. Her perfection and determination helped her to introduce the training and develop a new business sector.

She founded academies in each European country and in 2001 placed them under the trademark-protected umbrella organization of the European Nail Academy.

Here are some examples of a few of these national academies:

AUSTRIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The examination catalogue used by the Chamber of Commerce Austria for checking the proficiency of nail designers was also created by Ina Maria Schmid.

EUROPEAN NAIL ASSOCIATION

The European Nail Association is THE special-interest group for European nail designers that had taken on the task of promoting and fostering recognition of the profession.

ENA is a specialist design information platform, a way for everyone with a serious interest in the subject to obtain objective news and see inside the nail design industry.

The European Nail Association pays particular attention to the organization of international and national championships to ensure, among other things, that there is fair and friendly competition between competitors and that the achievements of each individual nail designer are respected.

It is also involved in the training and development of judges, who are trained according to international assessment criteria, and has earned recognition for its work on behalf of nail designers, as well as for the development of multi-stage competition guidelines that enable winners to be selected unambiguously.

Protecting nail designers from unfair competition, from unprofessional training, dishonest distributors and non-approved products is another extremely important responsibility.

There can be no compromise in the safety of nail studios and their customers, especially now when there is a growing number of discounters on the market. Implementing the European Cosmetics Regulation in partnership with the relevant authorities is a particularly important means of achieving this.
